How this Amerimax parts list is counted

Amerimax and similar sectional gutter systems come in 10 foot lengths that snap together with slip joint connectors and hang from hidden hangers, usually one every 24 inches (closer, every 16 to 18 inches, where snow load is heavy). This calculator counts each piece from your total footage, the number of separate runs, and your corners, then sizes the downspouts from the eave height.

It is a parts counter, not a price list: shelf prices change, so take the list to the store or plug the per-foot price into the gutter cost calculator. Not sure 5 inch is big enough? Run the rain gutter sizing calculator first, and follow the gutter installation cheat sheet when you hang it.

Amerimax is a trademark of its owner. DIYProject.ai is not affiliated with or endorsed by it; this calculator works for any 10 foot sectional gutter system.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many hangers do I need for Amerimax gutters?

One hidden hanger every 24 inches is the usual spacing, so about 5 per 10 foot section, plus one near each end. In snow country, tighten that to every 16 to 18 inches.

How many connectors does a sectional gutter need?

One slip joint connector wherever two straight sections meet. A corner piece joins two sections by itself, so every corner saves you a connector.

How much slope do sectional gutters need?

About 1/4 inch of drop for every 10 feet toward the downspout. Snap a chalk line before you set the hangers.

How far apart should downspouts be?

Plan one downspout for every 30 to 40 feet of gutter, and put one at each end of runs longer than 40 feet so the water splits both ways.
